Vampire is a plugin originally made by MassiveCraft.com, the same who made the popular Factions plugin. Currently we use a fork of the project maintained by Mowstyl on SpigotMC. It provides a fun addition allowing players to become Vampires, which have their own pros and cons. A lot of the info on this page is sourced from the original plugin's page here and some things are customized for our server.

To become a vampire, you must get infected with The Dark Disease. The dark disease is not to be confused with Vampirism. It will take about 3 day cycles for it to become Vampirism.
To contract the disease, you can use an Alter of Darkness, accept a blood offer from a Vampire or engage in combat with one (which can be accidental or intentional).
To stop the disease from progressing you can use an Alter of Light or Holy Water. The disease will not reset if you logoff or die, and the disease will not progress while offline.
There are a 3 main ways to get infected. Combat, Alters and Blood offers. This section details each.
Combat: Combat with a vampire has a 0.3% chance of infection. If a vampire is trying to infect you it raises to 5%.
Blood Offers: Accepting a blood offer from a vampire has a chance to infect you. If you are offered 20 units of blood, you will get infected.
Alter of Darkness: Please read the Alter of Darkness section.
To use an alter, right click the alter's main block (Gold for Darkness, Lapis Lazuli for Light). Alters can be built by anyone. The plugin makes Dead Bushes a drop, and Webs can be crafted from string using a Custom Recipe. The Alter of Light also allows you to make Holy Water.
Alter of Darkness
Alter requires a Gold Block and the following materials within a 10 block radius:
- 30 Obsidian
- 5 Web
- 5 Dead Bush
- 2 Diamond Blocks
Additionally you will require the following items in your inventory to activate the alter to contract the Dark Disease.
- Mushroom Stew
- 10 Bones
- 10 Gunpowder
- 10 Redstone
Alter of Light
Alter requires a Lapis Lazuli block and the following materials within a 10 block radius:
- 30 Glowstone
- 5 Yellow Flowers
- 5 Poppies
- 2 Diamond Blocks
While curing The Dark Disease here is free, you will require the following items to cure Vampirism:
- 1 Water Bucket
- 1 Diamond
- 20 Sugar
- 20 Wheat
Holy Water can be used to hurt Vampires. Vampires cannot make Holy Water. To create it, you will need:
- 1 Water Bottle
- 1 Lapis Lazuli
Being a vampire you have access to some unique and useful powers.
- No fall damage
- Jump 2 blocks
- Faster walk speed
- Breath underwater
- Night Vision
- 25% more combat damage
- Truce with most monsters (detailed below)
- Infect others through combat
Naturally, vampires have weaknesses such as the following:
- The Sun
- Wooden Stakes
- Holy Water
- Cannot eat food
The Sun has an entire algorithm for determining damage. It is detailed as followed:
exposure = sun * terrain * armor – 20
- Sun is calculated as a value between 0 and 100
- Terrain is calculated as a value between 0 and 1 by looking at the blocks above the player all the way up to the roof of the world. This means we pretend the sun is always directly above the player. Most blocks are completely solid and will block all sun. But it would for example take 4 leaf-blocks to block all sun.
- Armour is calculated as a value between 0 and 0.4. Each armour piece grants 0.125 and type does not matter. Armour cannot stop the process, but can slow it down a bit.

Holy Water will cause Vampires to have a 70% increase in temperature. They will go blind and catch fire if hit by two.
List of monsters that are in a truce with Vampires. Monsters will stay in a truce with you until you attack one. The truce reinstates after One minute of not attacking any monsters. You will see a message when it's reinstated.
